## Description

The PANIC Study, or Physical Activity and Nutrition in Children Study, is a comprehensive, long-term research initiative based in Kuopio, Finland. This ongoing study aims to investigate the effects of physical activity and nutrition on children from early childhood through adolescence and into early adulthood. Launched with a participant base of 736 children aged 6 to 8, the study has gathered insights from various assessments, including physical activity levels, dietary habits, and their impact on health outcomes. 

Over the course of eight years, participants underwent a structured intervention consisting of multiple sessions of physical activity and dietary counseling. A significant portion of participants—approximately 440—has remained actively involved in the follow-ups. The PANIC Study not only explores biochemical and physiological factors related to health but also examines the role of environmental and socioeconomic influences. Its findings contribute to essential research in health and wellbeing, providing valuable data that can guide public health policies and interventions aimed at improving the lives of children and adolescents.
