## Description

Panigalonga is a community-led walking and food event celebrating the villages, landscapes and culinary traditions of Podenzana. Its 2026 edition takes place on Sunday, October 4, under the theme of a picnic along the route. Open to adults and children, the event features a circular countryside walk of about 12 kilometres, passing through historic villages, castles and scenic natural areas. Participants are encouraged to bring a blanket and enjoy relaxed stops outdoors, making the day more than a walk: it is an opportunity to share time, stories and food.

At tasting stops, visitors can sample Podenzana’s traditional panigaccio in several variations, alongside other local dishes. Residents and volunteers from local associations help welcome participants, and the villages create activities and friendly displays, competing for the annual Panigaccio d’Oro award. Panigalonga also aims to make the experience more accessible through a pilot Joëlette project, using an all-terrain wheelchair with accompanying helpers to support participation by people with mobility disabilities. Requests are collected in advance, as places depend on organisational feasibility.
