Parallel is a dynamic initiative designed by Simon Singh to inspire and challenge secondary school students in their mathematical journey. Launched in 2018, Parallel offers engaging weekly mathematics challenges known as Parallelograms, aimed at young mathematicians from Year 7 and 8, with plans to extend resources to all secondary-level students and gifted primary schoolers. The challenges cover a variety of topics, including the mathematics behind popular phenomena and concepts in mathematics that resonate with students, making learning both fun and enriching. Parallel operates in conjunction with the Top-Top Set Maths Project, which nurtures numerate and ambitious students in dedicated settings to maximize their potential for higher education in STEM fields.
