## Description

The Swiss Paraplegic Group is a network dedicated to supporting people with spinal cord injuries throughout their lives. Its work begins at the accident scene or following a diagnosis and brings together more than 2,200 professionals and specialists. The group aims to help people with spinal cord injuries live healthy, self-determined lives with equal opportunities.

Its services span four areas: solidarity, medicine, education and research, and integration with lifelong support. The network includes the Swiss Paraplegic Centre, Swiss Paraplegic Research, ParaHelp, Sirmed, the Swiss Paraplegic Association, Orthotec, Active Communication, the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation, its benefactors’ association, and Hotel Sempachersee. Together, these organisations contribute to care, rehabilitation, research, education, and social and vocational integration.

Individuals, couples, and families can join the benefactors’ association. Members receive CHF 250,000 in the event of an accident causing permanent wheelchair dependence due to spinal cord injury. The group also welcomes donations for projects supporting people with spinal cord injuries and offers the free ParaForum visitor centre, an interactive exhibition about life, rehabilitation, and inclusion.
