## Description

Parivaar National Confederation of Parents Organizations (NCPO), established in 1995, serves as a pivotal federation for over 310 Parents Associations and Civil Societies across India, focusing on the needs of individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDDs) such as autism, cerebral palsy, and various intellectual disabilities. With representation in 138 urban, 116 semi-urban, and 47 rural areas, Parivaar NCPO stands as the largest confederation of its kind globally, advocating for policies that empower people with IDDs. The organization actively collaborates with government bodies and stakeholders to promote inclusive education, social integration, employment opportunities, and assisted living solutions. Parivaar also emphasizes the importance of self-advocacy through its Self Advocates’ Forum of India (SAFI), which comprises over 6,000 members who engage in discussions and activities to enhance the lives of individuals with disabilities. Through workshops and awareness programs, Parivaar aims to educate parents and the community on the rights and policies affecting persons with disabilities.
