## Description

Pass or Fail is an independent Canadian service that brings publicly available restaurant health and safety records together in one searchable place. Visitors can search by restaurant, city, or neighbourhood, or browse listings across five provinces and 68 cities. The platform covers more than 112,000 restaurants and displays inspection results using the terminology available from each local or provincial authority, including Pass, Conditional Pass, Closed, compliance ratings, hazard levels, or reported violations.

Pass or Fail gathers records from public-health units and health authorities in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Saskatchewan. Because reporting systems differ, the site explains what each authority publishes and how to interpret its results. Québec is an exception: the province does not publish routine inspection results, so the service aggregates public court-conviction records related to food-safety offences instead.

Data is refreshed on a daily-to-weekly schedule, though updates may take several days to appear. Pass or Fail is not a government site, and its records may be delayed or incomplete; the originating authority remains the authoritative source.
