Pathfinder Ranch has a rich history dating back to 1964 when it was established as a haven from the scorching summer heat for the boys of Palm Springs. Founded by Ralph and Walker Smith, who were board members of the Boys Club of Palm Springs and driven by their dream to provide a mountain retreat, the ranch has expanded its services over the years. Initially spanning 28 acres with 2 buildings, Pathfinder Ranch now offers a range of programs and services.

For outdoor education, they provide virtual resources, retreats, and conferences. Their summer camp is a highlight, offering scholarships and catering to teenagers through their Teen Leadership Programs. In terms of infrastructure, the camp boasts Leuthold Lodge and Stauffer Dining Hall, multiple dorms, a conference center, and a sparkling swimming pool.

Pathfinder Ranch has continuously evolved and expanded to meet the needs of a wider geographical area, with the ability to serve over 11,000 children annually. Renovations have been made to all dormitories, a new lake has been created, and 40 acres of wildlife preserve have been acquired. The camp facilities have been updated and improved, ensuring a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all the campers.
