## Description

Patient Education Sheets (PES) is a cancer education resource initiative led by NCODA in partnership with the Association of Cancer Care Centers (ACCC), the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA), and the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS). Its resources help patients and caregivers better understand cancer treatments and feel more prepared to navigate care. Sheets cover treatments taken by mouth, given by injection or infusion, general cancer education, and symptom management. Written in clear, patient-friendly language at approximately a fifth- to eighth-grade reading level, they explain how therapies work, how they are given, treatment schedules, precautions, and possible side effects, including practical guidance on prevention and management. The materials are designed primarily to support healthcare providers and pharmacists during counseling, while also helping patients and caregivers reinforce what they learn. Clinics can customize sheets with supportive care information, contact details, and personalized notes. A searchable library features recently published resources, and clinical content is reviewed annually by an interprofessional committee, with major updates monitored as needed.
