## Description

The Patricia Seppälä Foundation, established in 2000 by the late Patricia Seppälä, is dedicated to advancing the fields of photojournalism, journalism photography, and documentary photography. The foundation offers various grants to support projects within these disciplines, encouraging the development and exploration of visual storytelling. Annually, the foundation announces grant recipients in the spring, providing substantial funding for innovative and impactful photographic work.

In addition to grants, the foundation fosters a vibrant community through workshops, such as the "Youth" workshop led by Heidi Piiroinen, which addresses the challenges faced by young people today, including the impacts of climate change and digitalization. The Patricia Seppälä Foundation also awards prestigious photography prizes, further promoting excellence in the sector. Through collaborations with institutions like the Finnish Museum Agency, the foundation works on projects that digitize and make accessible important photographic collections, ensuring the preservation and dissemination of significant visual narratives for future generations.
