Pawnee County Humane Society, Inc. They aim to achieve this by raising community awareness and providing education on responsible pet ownership, ultimately putting an end to euthanasia for healthy, adoptable animals. Their goals include creating a safe environment for homeless pets during times of transition and rehabilitation, reducing the number of animals being surrendered through early intervention and education, as well as addressing overpopulation by promoting community-wide spay/neuter education and assistance. Established in 2005 as a steering committee under the City of Larned, Pawnee County Humane Society has since grown to incorporate as a non-profit charity and opened their Animal Shelter in 2011.
