## Description

The Patuxent River Naval Air Museum (PRNAM) is a premier cultural institution located in Lexington Park, MD. While it has a decades-long history, the museum has recently undergone a transformation and is now a private, non-profit organization working in conjunction with St. Mary's County. Unlike other aviation-focused museums, PRNAM sets itself apart by focusing on the research, development, test, and evaluation environment of naval aviation. Its aim is to preserve significant artifacts and educate the public about the historic and social significance of the work of the U.S. Navy, specifically carried out in St. Mary's County. With a collection that includes over 22 one-of-a-kind aircraft, artifacts, simulators, films, and books spanning the history of Naval Aviation, PRNAM offers a dynamic and memorable experience. Visitors can get up close to aircraft and explore the concepts and ideas that have shaped naval aviation over the years. The museum also aims to inspire and encourage excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), embracing the future promise of advanced innovations and an improved quality of life. Visit PRNAM today to experience the unique history and technological advancements of naval aviation firsthand.
