## Description

Pay it Forward Scholarships is a student scholarship organization serving families, schools, and taxpayers across Georgia. It provides scholarships for students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade to attend accredited private schools in the state, supporting parents in choosing an educational setting that best suits their child. The organization reports distributing more than $16 million in student scholarships.

Its scholarship program is funded through Georgia’s Qualified Education Expense (QEE) Tax Credit. Pay it Forward Scholarships says it has access to $150 million in QEE tax credits to distribute to Georgia taxpayers. Eligible taxpayers can designate a donation to an accredited private school of their choice and receive a dollar-for-dollar Georgia QEE tax credit. Parents can apply for scholarships on behalf of their students, while schools can partner with the organization to make scholarship opportunities available. Pay it Forward Scholarships handles scholarship administration for partner schools, aiming to limit the added work for school staff.
