## Description

PCoin (PCN) is an independent, open-source Layer-1 blockchain launched in August 2026 as a fork of Bitcoin Core. It is a standalone cryptocurrency, not a token, designed to make mining accessible to people using everyday computers and phones. PCoin retains Bitcoin’s fixed supply of 21 million coins, 10-minute block target and scheduled subsidy halvings, while replacing Bitcoin’s proof-of-work with RandomX, an algorithm intended to favor general-purpose CPUs over specialized mining hardware. The network has no premine, founder’s allocation or tail emission, and its blocks are validated by participating nodes.

Users can get started by running the PCoin node, which includes a built-in miner; compatible third-party mining software is also noted. The site provides wallet and mining guidance, hardware performance information, a mining pool, and links to buy or trade PCN through exchanges. It also offers an explorer for viewing network activity, information on spending and accepting PCN, an invitation program that awards 200 PCN per invite, and resources including a roadmap, FAQ, news and GitHub.
