## Description

PCCI is a mission-driven, not-for-profit research organization that applies artificial intelligence and Non-Medical Drivers of Health (NMDoH) expertise to improve health and well-being, particularly for underserved and vulnerable populations. Founded as a department within Parkland Health, it became independent in 2012 and maintains close connections with Parkland Health, the Parkland Foundation, and Parkland Community Health Plan. Its work combines clinical knowledge, data science, and community-level information to help identify needs, prioritize services, support providers, and engage patients.

PCCI develops AI tools and predictive models for clinical decision support and population health, helping care teams identify risks and intervene earlier. Its technologies include Isthmus, an interoperable cloud-based data environment; ISLET, a tool for viewing predictive model results within electronic health records; and automated AI model monitoring. PCCI also offers NMDoH analytics and the Community Vulnerability Compass, an interactive dashboard that helps health, public, nonprofit, and philanthropic organizations understand local social vulnerabilities and target interventions. Through partnerships and collaborative initiatives, PCCI supports connected communities of care and more personalized approaches to health.
