Description
The Penn Central Railroad Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the rich history and heritage of the Penn Central Transportation Company. Despite facing criticism and becoming the largest bankruptcy in the nation's history, Penn Central played a vital role in the nation's transportation system. Gone are the days of three popular railroads in the eastern United States β Pennsylvania, New York Central, and New Haven β but their legacy lives on through Penn Central.
The society aims to commemorate this history, especially in light of Conrail, PC's successor, also becoming a fallen flag. Since its establishment in 1999, the Penn Central Railroad Historical Society has grown and connects with its members through their thrice-yearly publication, the POST. The POST includes a wide range of articles, drawings, and photographs, covering everything from operations and modeling to the whereabouts of former PC equipment.
