## Description

Penticton and District Society for Community Living (PDSCL) is a nonprofit organization supporting people with diverse abilities in Penticton and surrounding communities. Founded in 1958 by parents seeking educational opportunities for their children with disabilities, the Society has grown to respond to changing community needs. Its vision is a community where everyone has equal opportunities to lead active, fulfilling lives.

PDSCL provides community living services, including day and youth programs, staffed living, home sharing, and supported employment. It also offers seniors’ services through an assisted living facility and supported housing, as well as subsidized rental apartments without care support. Housing is a major part of its work: PDSCL operates more than 400 units across 14 building sites and seeks to expand safe, secure housing opportunities.

The organization serves 164 clients through community living programs and supports 39 people working at PDSCL through supported employment. PDSCL also hosts inclusive community events, shares program resources, and collaborates with local organizations, including the S.O.S. Wheelchair Trails Society, to support accessible trails and facilities.
