Founded in 1980 by physicians from the U.S. and the former Soviet Union, its mission is rooted in the profound understanding that health professionals have a vital obligation to prevent nuclear conflict and its devastating consequences. With tens of thousands of doctors, medical students, and health workers as members, IPPNW advocates for a world free from the threat of nuclear weapons. Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1985, IPPNW has tirelessly documented the humanitarian, medical, and environmental impacts of nuclear arms, emphasizing that no effective medical response can exist for nuclear conflicts. The organization promotes initiatives such as the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) and engages in global advocacy for comprehensive treaties to eliminate these destructive weapons. Additionally, IPPNW addresses armed violence and health security, contributing to significant global health discussions with a strong focus on peace, safety, and prevention of nuclear war. ## Industries - ⛑ Health - ⛑ Public Health and Safety _(under Health)_ - 📰 News and Media - 🎗 Community and Society ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/iduN5B8A48/w/512/h/512/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1722199401682) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Royal Blue | #3858e9 | accent | | Mine Shaft | #333333 | dark | | White | #ffffff | light | ## Fonts - Helvetica Neue — asset _(custom)_ - Palatino — asset _(custom)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
