## Description

The PEcAn Project develops the Predictive Ecosystem Analyzer, an integrated informatics toolbox designed to support ecosystem modeling and forecasting. Its work brings together ecosystem science, policy, and management with the aim of making the best available data and models more useful for informed decisions. PEcAn’s mission is to develop and promote accessible tools for reproducible ecosystem modeling and forecasting.

The framework includes an application programming interface that encapsulates ecosystem models and provides a common interface for model inputs and outputs. It also offers a web-based user interface and visualization tools, alongside an extensible collection of modules for specialized analyses, model-data synthesis, and data processing. These components are intended to support ecological synthesis and help users work consistently across modeling tasks.

PEcAn is free and open-source software, maintained for the benefit of the scientific community and humanity. The project provides documentation, package documentation, tutorials, and a demo to help users get started. It also shares project news and publications, welcomes contributions through GitHub, and offers community connection through Slack.
