## Description

PediaMed is a pediatric medicines platform focused on closing the gap between proven therapies and the children who need them. It addresses five recurring commercialization challenges: medicines for small patient populations, promising molecules without a suitable home, complex or costly compounds, science shelved during organizational changes, and approved products that lack the support needed to reach patients. PediaMed’s two-part model offers distinct paths to advance these medicines. PediaMed Ventures provides last-mile investment for clinically meaningful, commercially viable therapies that need an owner focused on completing their journey. The PediaMed Institute, a 501(c)(3), uses philanthropic support to advance medicines that the market cannot adequately reward. Together, these efforts aim to move pediatric medicines through the final stages of development and commercialization, supporting patients, parents, and providers. The platform also invites pharmaceutical companies to transfer stranded, shelved, or non-strategic assets, and gives investors and philanthropists ways to support its mission. Founded by Jeff Wurtsbaugh, a commercialization operations leader and healthcare entrepreneur with an MBA from Duke University, PediaMed brings commercial discipline to the last mile of pediatric medicine.
