## Description

Pee-Mail is a playful digital messaging experience created in 2001. Described as “like e-mail but with pee,” it lets users draw a message and send it to anybody, offering a humorous alternative to conventional online communication. The experience includes options to clear, replay, and share a creation, making it simple to make and pass along a personalized message. Pee-Mail’s original version ran on Adobe Flash, a web technology that was widely used at the time. To mark its 20th anniversary, the experience was recreated in HTML and JavaScript, with the aim of keeping it available for years to come. The anniversary edition also revisits Pee-Mail’s early history: its creators report that one million pee-mails were shared in 2001. The project is credited to Karl Ackermann, and the page also names TickleTykes. With its deliberately irreverent premise and simple drawing-based format, Pee-Mail turns a familiar form of digital communication into a lighthearted, shareable novelty.
