About
Description
Pelican Harbor Seabird Station is Miami's premier native wildlife hospital and a world-class wildlife rescue, rehab, release, and education center. Our mission is to improve the lives of sick, injured, and orphaned native wildlife and release them back into the ecosystem. With a focus on patient care, compassion, and integrity, we also engage the community in the importance of wildlife conservation.
Founded in 1980, Pelican Harbor Seabird Station initially cared for injured brown pelicans and has since become an internationally recognized center for seabird rehabilitation. As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity, we rely solely on donations to operate. Our facility has grown from a tool shed and a single aviary to accommodate thousands of sick, injured, orphaned, and displaced wild animals each year, ranging from birds to tortoises.
In addition to our wildlife rehabilitation program, we offer educational programming to local schools, provide assistance in resolving human-wildlife conflicts, and collaborate with other organizations and government agencies on wildlife protection research. Join us in our efforts to conserve Miami's wildlife and support our important work
