It all started when our CEO, Emil Norup, had his bike stolen, which led him and our CTO, Thomas Martin Jessen, to recognize a major everyday problem that needed solving. Traditional bike locks can be easily removed with the right tool in just seconds, and nobody seems to care if your bike is stolen, including the police and insurance companies.

Inspired by the car industry's success in combating car theft, PentaLock developed an integrated immobilizer for bikes. By combining the lock with a vital part of the bike, cutting or breaking the lock renders the bike useless and unsellable, negating the incentive for thieves to target it in the first place. To ensure the utmost security, our team collaborated with a former professional bike thief, gaining valuable insights into their mindset and techniques.
