The project encompasses historians, literary and visual culture experts, philosophers, as well as scientists from various fields, aiming to delve into the intricate histories of human displacement in and around the Mediterranean from the 15th to the 20th century. PIMo endeavors to contextualize the contemporary migration crisis in Europe by examining past movements, including those arising from religious persecution, slavery, trade, and environmental catastrophes. The project emphasizes the concept of ‘displacement’ as a pivotal aspect of human experience, advocating for a compassionate understanding of individuals’ unique journeys. PIMo is not merely a research project; it investigates how displacement interconnects cultures, ideas, and historical narratives, offering critical insights into the shared experiences of people on the move. Through its various workgroups and collaborative efforts, PIMo seeks to illuminate these historical complexities while fostering awareness and empathy towards displaced communities. ## Industries - 🧪 Science and Education - 🧪 History _(under Science and Education)_ - 🧪 Social Sciences _(under Science and Education)_ ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/iddImo7qNA/w/174/h/110/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1735322628546) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Curious Blue | #1da2d9 | accent | ## Fonts - PT Sans — asset _(google)_ - Roboto — asset _(google)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
