## Description

The Percy Lanham Foundation Inc. is a registered charitable foundation established by retired educator Percy A. Lanham to help students facing financial need pursue post-secondary education. Drawing on his own experience receiving financial assistance, Lanham created the foundation to support qualifying candidates through the Percy Lanham Bursary.

The bursary contributes toward tuition, books and supplies, and, when funds permit, living expenses. Applicants must have completed more than one year of study. The foundation may award one or more bursaries annually at six Manitoba institutions: the University of Manitoba, the University of Winnipeg, Brandon University, Brandon University, Red River Community College, Assiniboine Community College, and University College of the North. Awards depend on available funds and are determined by the foundation’s board, which considers financial need, academic results, extracurricular activities, and other meritorious factors.

Applications, accompanied by a transcript, should be submitted before July 15 for the upcoming school year; assessments take place in late July. The foundation’s support helps recipients concentrate on their studies and educational goals.
