## Description

Permaculture Local is a community-built online resource that helps people discover what works for sustainable living in their bioregion. Its guiding question, “What works where I live?”, connects local experience with a broader global knowledgebase. The site offers a plant database for finding species and a resources knowledgebase covering permaculture information, techniques, and strategies. Members can add and edit content, while topic experts help curate it; community members can also rate what works best in their area. Together, these contributions support a growing, locally informed resource for people working with sustainable living systems.

The project is grounded in permaculture, a design philosophy focused on working with nature and creating life-rich ecologies that support people and other forms of life. Its stated ethics are care of the Earth, care of people, and sharing the surplus. Permaculture Local invites people to contribute knowledge, skills, time, or financial support, with the aim of making practical information widely available through collaboration.
