## Description

PermitStack provides access to more than 108 million U.S. building permits from over 11,000 cities across 48 states and Washington, DC. It gathers information from government portals, normalizes it into a consistent format, and refreshes its data daily. Customers can work with permit records through a REST API, browser-based search and exports, or bulk CSV downloads.

The service supports searches by location, category, contractor, date, project value, and permit description. Records are classified into 20 categories, including solar, roofing, HVAC, electrical, new construction, and demolition, and include geographic coordinates. Users can review contractor activity, retrieve construction histories for properties, and receive alerts or email lead feeds for new matching permits. PermitStack serves developers and teams in solar and energy, field sales, real estate, insurance, and building materials. Its developer tools include API documentation, Python and TypeScript SDKs, and an MCP server for AI agents. A free tier offers 100 API requests per day; paid API plans start at $29 per month, while one-time city data exports cost $39 to $349.
