## Description

Peter Tanner is an analytics leader who uses data to explore questions in sports, politics, and business. His work combines analytical thinking with code, and his interests are reflected in research on hockey and decision-making. Topics include predicting NHL concussions, examining what may predict whether an NHL coach will be fired and whether it matters, and MoneyPuck, an NHL prediction model.

Tanner studied at Lund University in 2003–2004 and earned a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo in 2005. His experience includes work in the Obama Campaign Analytics Department in 2012 and a role as Director of Data Science at Capital One, listed as beginning in 2005 and continuing to the present.

He has shared insights at industry and analytics events, including SAP Sapphire Now, the Customer Analytics Summit, ADMA Global Forum, SAS Global Forum, and the Vancouver Hockey Analytics Conference.
