## Description

Pferdetheater is an equestrian arts and training project on the island of Rügen, created to honour horses and help preserve the cultural heritage associated with them. It is a place where artistic performances featuring horses are developed and presented, alongside opportunities for riders and horses to train. The organisation also provides horse boarding on a comfortable facility and welcomes visitors interested in its work.

Its offerings include dressage training, horse training and riding services, as well as performances and events. The 2026 programme on Rügen features opportunities to watch training in July and August, a multimedia indoor programme, and open-air performances. Visitors can find information about upcoming shows, tickets and vouchers, past productions, and venue hire. The site also highlights ways to participate, references, funding, and videos.

Pferdetheater was founded by trainer and horse educator Leon Vermeulen, who has worked in dressage training and horse education for more than 30 years. Alongside training dressage and competition riders, he pursues creative productions with horses.
