Launched in 2021, its project area stretches between the Whataroa and Waiau (Waiho) rivers, from the Southern Alps to the Tasman Sea, and includes Franz Josef, Whataroa and Ōkārito. The initiative aims to create an unfenced, predator-free mainland landscape and protect native and endemic species. Working with Zero Invasive Predators (ZIP), the project developed and applied a step-by-step approach to predator elimination. Its work is intended to support forest health, reduce carbon emissions and create employment and income opportunities for the local community. As the project nears completion, the organisation reports signs of ecological recovery, including more frequent sightings of native birds such as kea, kākāriki and fernbirds. Predator Free South Westland also shares project results and impact reports, invites people to report sightings, and offers dog-safety notifications and a newsletter. Its work is made possible through community collaboration and support from partners. ## Industries - 🧪 Science and Education - 🧪 Environmental Science _(under Science and Education)_ - 🎗 Community and Society ## Links - [facebook](https://facebook.com/predatorfreesouthwestland) - [instagram](https://instagram.com/projectpfsw) ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idAg7sGwiR/w/520/h/147/theme/light/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1792891529947) - icon _(primary)_ — JPEG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idAg7sGwiR/w/2048/h/2048/theme/dark/icon.jpeg?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1792891530603) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Roof Terracotta | #ab3a25 | accent | | Firefly | #091e21 | dark | | Periwinkle Gray | #bac2e7 | light | ## Fonts - Poppins — asset _(google)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
