## Description

Päijät-Hämeen Diabetesyhdistys ry is a local diabetes association serving people with diabetes and their families throughout the Päijät-Häme region of Finland. Founded in 1956, it focuses on support, information and community, bringing members together to share experiences and strengthen everyday wellbeing. The association offers peer groups for people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, a family group, weight-management activities, a gym group and D-Klubi gatherings. Its programme also includes talks and other events, with activities designed to encourage participation and peer support. Members can join low-threshold groups, take part in planning the association’s future activities and receive current information. The association also provides grants to young people with diabetes to help with hobbies, exercise, camps and other personal goals that support an active life with diabetes. Based in Lahti, Päijät-Hämeen Diabetesyhdistys welcomes new members and works to support local diabetes activities through shared involvement and community connections.
