## Description

Pheast Therapeutics is a biotechnology company developing next-generation cancer immunotherapies that target the innate immune system. Its approach focuses on macrophages, immune cells that can recognize and destroy cancer cells but may be blocked by tumor “don’t eat me” signals. Pheast’s research identified CD24 as one such signal, with high expression observed in ovarian and breast cancers. The company is developing anti-CD24 antibodies designed to block this checkpoint and help macrophages attack tumors. Its lead program, PHST001, is an anti-CD24 macrophage checkpoint inhibitor; company updates describe its evaluation in a Phase 1 clinical trial for advanced solid tumors, alongside preclinical research. Pheast also uses a proprietary discovery platform to identify other tumor-associated immune signals and develop macrophage-targeted therapies. Its development strategy includes biomarker research and exploring combinations with existing cancer treatments, including immunotherapies, tumor-targeting antibodies, and chemotherapy. Led by scientists involved in foundational research and experts in cancer immunotherapy and innate immunity, Pheast aims to expand treatment options for people with aggressive cancers.
