## Description

Co’s Digital Flora of the Philippines is an illustrated, continuously updated checklist documenting the country’s vascular plants. Continuing the botanical work of Elmer D. Merrill and Leonardo L. Co, the project brings together citizen scientists and taxonomists to provide a real-time overview of the Philippine flora. Its coverage includes native, naturalized, and invasive species, with entries offering synonyms, general distribution information, conservation status details, and references to scientific literature.

The resource organizes plants into checklists for ferns and other pteridophytes, gymnosperms, and flowering plants. It also provides data and statistics about Philippine flora, along with further information on plant biogeography, botanical exploration, and the classification of flowering plants. More than 150,000 photographs illustrate the checklist, representing approximately 60 percent of the roughly 10,200 plant species in the country. Visitors can search photographs and explore additional resources, literature, links, and acknowledgements. Co’s Digital Flora serves researchers, educators, plant enthusiasts, and the wider public seeking authoritative information about the diversity and study of Philippine plants.
