## Description

The Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) is the national governing body for Taekwondo in the Philippines, established in 1976 and recognized by World Taekwondo and the Philippine Olympic Committee. The federation develops athletes, supports coaches, and promotes the sport across the country, from grassroots training to international competition. Its programs cover four pathways: Kyorugi, or Olympic-style sparring; Poomsae, featuring technical forms for individual, pair, team, freestyle, and para divisions; Para-Taekwondo for athletes with physical or intellectual impairments; and coaching certification. PTA also offers referee and instructor certifications, with coaching levels aligned to World Taekwondo standards. The association organizes and lists sanctioned tournaments, courses, and seminars, and shares official schedules, results, announcements, and team news. Athletes, coaches, parents, and supporters can explore programs, connect with local chapters, register for events, and find ways to participate. Through its affiliations with organizations including the Asian Taekwondo Union, Kukkiwon, Philippine Sports Commission, and Games and Amusements Board, PTA works to strengthen Taekwondo and help shape capable competitors and individuals.
