Welcome to the Center for Photographic Art (CPA) in Carmel, CA. As the second oldest members’ photography gallery organization in the country, CPA has a rich history and continues to be a valuable asset to its members and the community. Located in a historic Carmel setting, our gallery features the finest works of contemporary photography and is open to the public, free of charge. CPA offers a range of services and programs for photography enthusiasts and artists. Our Lecture Series brings in artists, curators, and educators to provide in-depth examinations of various topics. We also host special monthly events exclusively for CPA members, including critiques, film viewings, book reviews, and print exchanges. Our mission is to inspire personal growth in both artists and audiences, increasing understanding and respect for photography and its evolving role in contemporary culture. At CPA, we foster artistic development, stimulate dialogue, and promote inquiry through education, exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and community collaboration.
