## Description

Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) is a distinguished organization founded in 1986 that harnesses the power of medicine and science to expose and address severe human rights violations across the globe. With a mission rooted in advocating for justice, PHR documents atrocities ranging from torture and sexual violence to the targeted attacks on health care systems. By collaborating with an extensive network of health professionals and legal experts, they aim to empower survivors and ensure that perpetrators are held accountable. PHR’s work encompasses various focus areas, including asylum and persecution, reproductive justice, and responses to global conflicts and crises such as COVID-19. Through rigorous research and advocacy, PHR provides crucial forensic evidence to support victims in their pursuit of justice. The organization also offers resources like webinars and reports to educate and engage the public on pressing human rights issues. Recognized for its impactful contributions, PHR was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997, exemplifying its ongoing commitment to uphold human dignity and ethical medical practices worldwide.
