## Description

The Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) is the Philippine government’s primary socioeconomic policy think tank. Its mission is to provide relevant, reliable, and timely policy research that guides policymaking and supports informed public discussion. PIDS conducts research across issues including agriculture, health, education, labor, governance, trade, fiscal policy, infrastructure, poverty, climate change, and urban development. It shares its work through books, discussion papers, policy notes, journal articles, reports, infographics, videos, and other publications.

Beyond research, PIDS contributes legislative inputs, organizes events, and provides public access to economic and social data through its databases and the Socioeconomic Research Portal for the Philippines. Its website also offers a library, research resources, news, and information about opportunities, employment, procurement, and professional networks. PIDS supports the use of evidence in public policy and serves researchers, government, and the wider public. The institute was recognized among the world’s top think tanks in the 2020 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report.
