## Description

Pil Sung Black Belt Academy is a self-defense and personal-assertiveness school in Andernach, Germany, serving children, teenagers and adults. Owner and Chief Instructor Sylvia C. Paffrath brings ten years of experience from the United States, along with training in traditional Tae Kwon Do and Choi Kwang Do. Since 2009, she and her assistant team have taught at the academy and in schools and kindergartens across the Mayen-Koblenz district.

Programs include Tiny Tigers for ages three to six, Juniors for ages seven to thirteen, adult classes from age fourteen, and self-defense for women. Training uses natural, biomechanically sound movements and aims to build fitness, coordination, confidence, respect and discipline. Students work toward black belt without sparring or competing against one another; instruction supports individual goals and abilities.

The academy also provides children’s mindfulness courses and programs in schools and kindergartens. Its five-week course introduces age-appropriate exercises for concentration and managing stress and strong emotions, with materials to support practice at home. The school prioritizes safety and a positive, cooperative learning environment.
