## Description

TiDB is an open-source distributed SQL database developed by PingCAP for modern transactional, analytical, and AI applications. Its platform brings vectors, transactions, and analytics together in one engine, with ACID guarantees and elastic scaling to support workloads that can change quickly. For AI agents, TiDB provides persistent, queryable memory, isolated per-agent state, and support for multi-step reasoning and workflows. Native vector indexing and retrieval-augmented generation capabilities help teams build AI applications without maintaining separate systems for vector search, transactions, and analytics.

TiDB is available through TiDB Cloud and self-managed deployment options, alongside integrations and ecosystem products such as TiKV, TiDB Cloud Filesystem, and OSS Insight. The company also offers SDKs, guides, templates, developer resources, hands-on labs, and an AI Startup Program to help teams build and scale applications. Its database serves organizations across AI, fintech, ecommerce, SaaS, logistics, and other industries. TiDB emphasizes automatic scaling, consistent agent state, tenant isolation, and reduced infrastructure complexity, and shares customer stories illustrating deployments at scale.
