## Description

Pink Champagne is a volunteer-run dragon boat team in Bournemouth for women who have been treated for breast cancer. Paddling from Hengistbury Head since 2008, the team brings members together for exercise, friendship and mutual support on the water. Its Saturday sessions begin with paddling and continue ashore with tea and conversation, creating a welcoming routine for women at different stages of recovery.

No previous paddling experience is needed: new members are taught the basics and join a 20-person crew. The team welcomes people with a range of fitness levels and offers three free taster sessions, with no obligation to continue. Members can take part for companionship and fresh air, while those interested in competition can join training and race at events, including international festivals.

Pink Champagne also raises funds and welcomes donations and sponsorship to help cover practical costs such as boat maintenance, life vests, race entries and storage.
