## Description

Pipola is an independent residential care home in Lohja, Finland, offering a welcoming and active home for 25 adults with intellectual disabilities or other support needs. Located beside the scenic Puujärvi lake, it provides a peaceful, nature-rich setting while encouraging residents to take part in everyday activities and outings.

Operated by the Finnish Eino Raunion Foundation, Pipola has a history dating back to 1945, when it began as a home for children and young people with intellectual disabilities. Today, its services include supported residential living and daytime activities for both residents and people who come from elsewhere. Activities described by residents include exercise, painting, music, gardening, practical projects and time outdoors.

Pipola emphasizes individual support, participation and a good quality of life. Staff work with residents and their families to understand personal needs and interests, and support is available around the clock as residents adjust to their new home. Moving in follows an assessment of support needs and a decision by the relevant wellbeing services county.
