## Description

The Pisa Book Festival is an annual literary event and national showcase dedicated to independent Italian publishing. Centered on celebrating books and the people who create and share them, it brings together independent publishers, authors, translators, illustrators, booksellers and readers. The festival presents a program of meetings and book presentations, alongside a catalogue of participating independent publishers. Its events take place at Pisa’s Arsenali Repubblicani and in notable historic palaces and museum venues across the city. The festival also features annual themes and cultural initiatives, including the Pisa Book Translation Awards, which recognize translated titles. Visitors can explore program information, publisher listings, press materials, photo and video galleries, and updates through its website and newsletter. The event is supported by sponsors and invites people to become sponsors or friends, as well as contribute to the festival’s association through Italy’s five-per-thousand tax donation scheme. In 2026, it announced Ukraine as guest country and sport as a central theme.
