Founded by Min Ming and Shravan five years ago, the brand was born out of their frustration with the lack of structured collaboration tools available to designers. They observed that designers had difficulty organizing their assets and finding the latest versions of files, while developers faced the arduous task of manually exporting assets from Photoshop files.

Determined to solve this problem, they created a platform that allows designers to easily organize, iterate, and collect feedback on their work. After three years of development, Pixelapse introduced a new way for designers to collaborate and made a significant impact on the concept of open-source design. In 2015, they joined forces with Dropbox to expand their vision and provide an open collaboration platform to a wider audience.

As part of Dropbox, Pixelapse continued to enhance the design collaboration experience with features such as support for Adobe Creative Suite files, version history support, and image and document annotation capabilities. Although Pixelapse is now integrated into Dropbox, its original vision lives on and continues to impact millions of users. The brand's journey is marked by significant milestones, including being accepted into YCombinator, raising seed funding, and acquiring their first paying customer.
