## Description

PlanetMath is a virtual community that aims to make mathematical knowledge more accessible. It provides a collaborative platform where members contribute to the mathematics encyclopedia by writing and reviewing entries. The content is licensed under Creative Commons By/Share-Alike License, ensuring the rights of authors, readers, and content creators are preserved. All entries are written in LaTeX, the universal language of the mathematical community, and are rendered using LaTeXML for presentation on the web. To enhance the user experience, links between articles are added using NNexus. The platform also encourages active participation through their GitHub repositories, allowing users to edit source files. In line with this, the legacy forums have been replaced with Gitter discussion channels for each mathematics subject category, facilitating real-time discussions. PlanetMath.org is hosted by the University of Waterloo Faculty of Mathematics and is operated as a non-profit organization in Alexandria, Virginia, USA.
