## Description

PlanetRomeo Foundation is an Amsterdam-based registered nonprofit that supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) communities through funding for emerging projects and grassroots initiatives. Founded in 2009, the Foundation focuses its support on countries and regions where LGBTI rights are most severely infringed, helping direct resources to communities where they are needed most. Its work is described as being for the community and by the community, and includes micro-grants for local groups as well as emergency aid, such as support for groups in Uganda. The Foundation reports having funded 419 projects across 97 countries, with a total of €1,779,492 in funding. Its website features information about funded projects, news and partner visits, and invites initiatives to apply for funding and supporters to donate.
