## Description

Plants of Hawai‘i (POH) is a species information and identification system focused on the flora of the Hawaiian Islands. It brings together information on documented native, naturalized, and cultivated plants, covering flowering plants, cone-bearing plants, ferns, mosses, liverworts, hornworts, and algae. Visitors can search for plants using multiple terms and consult resources that support identification and research.

The site also provides botanical reference works and data, including the Checklist of the Native and Naturalized Vascular Plants of Hawai‘i, the Inventory of the Seaweeds and Seagrasses of the Hawaiian Islands, and volumes on Hawaiian liverworts and hornworts. Selected resources offer data downloads. POH is continuously developed, with contributions from botanical publications, illustrations, and community support. The project invites visitors to help expand it through donations to Bishop Museum Botany or by volunteering. By organizing information and references across a broad range of Hawaiian plant groups, Plants of Hawai‘i serves as a resource for people interested in identifying, documenting, and learning about the islands’ flora.
