## Description

Play Africa is a South African nonprofit and Southern Africa’s pioneering children’s museum, based at Constitution Hill in Johannesburg. The organisation champions children’s right to play, create, discover and connect, using playful learning to help young people develop skills and imagine a positive future for Africa. Its work brings educational experiences to children and families at Constitution Hill, online and in community settings.

Play Africa offers family visits, school field trips and interactive activities focused on creativity, literacy, personal expression, and science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Its programmes and resources include Women in STEM, STEM Seeds, My Constitution Toolkit, activity packs, resource libraries and African storytelling. The organisation also offers a children’s planetarium, invites communities to host its experiences, and works with partners on initiatives such as Our Earthwise World.

Located within a precinct dedicated to South Africa’s history and democracy, Play Africa creates space for joyful discovery while engaging with themes of freedom, equality and human dignity.
