## Description

Valve is a video game developer and publisher, and the company behind Artifact, a strategy card game set in the Dota universe. Released in 2018, Artifact is now available in two versions: Artifact Classic, the original digital trading card game developed in collaboration with card game designer Richard Garfield, and Artifact Foundry, a free-to-play edition shaped by community feedback.

Artifact Classic centers on strategic competition across three combat lanes, where players build decks and respond to opponents’ moves. All cards are available to players, with no paid event tickets. Artifact Foundry streamlines play by showing all three lanes together, using a shared mana pool, and reducing the impact of randomness. It adds more than 100 cards, new heroes, tutorials, playable scenarios, a beginner campaign, standalone challenges, and a Hero Draft PvP mode. Foundry unlocks cards through gameplay rather than paid packs.

Both games offer single-player content and online player-versus-player play, and are available through Steam. Valve also provides community features and Steam Cloud support for Artifact.
