## Description

Play Chess Online is an online chess community bringing players together since 2001. Its free-to-play service lets members choose between daily correspondence chess, where players can take hours or days to consider a move, and live games played in real time. Players can keep several correspondence games running at once and receive optional turn notifications by email or through the mobile apps.

The platform offers rated and casual games against people worldwide, regularly scheduled tournaments, chess clubs, clan team matches, leaderboards, ladders, forums, blogs and private messaging. Members can also explore interactive puzzles, chess guides, checkmate patterns, annotated games, openings, variants, a coordinate trainer, and FEN and PGN viewers. Unrated games against the computer are available for practice, while chess engines are prohibited in human games.

Play Chess Online is accessible through its website and iOS and Android apps; live chess is web-only. Core play and features including tournaments and puzzles are available for free, with optional premium memberships offering additional features.
