## Description

Playground is an investment firm focused on turning breakthrough science into world-changing companies. It invests at the earliest stages of company formation, backing scientists and engineers developing technologies that push beyond what seems possible. The firm’s focus spans four areas: next-generation computing, automation, the energy transition, and engineered biology.

In computing, Playground supports innovations such as quantum computing, AI acceleration, novel architectures, and advanced interconnects. Its automation investments target technologies that help companies scale, innovate, and compete while delivering tangible returns. In energy, the firm backs solutions for cleaner, more efficient, and scalable generation, storage, and infrastructure. Its engineered biology focus includes platforms at the intersection of AI and synthetic biology, with potential to accelerate drug development and enable next-generation therapies.

Playground presents itself as a starting point for deep-tech ventures, partnering with technical founders as they build companies around ambitious scientific and engineering advances. Its portfolio, team, news, and events are featured on its website, alongside opportunities to connect with the firm.
