Playing Lean is a brand that offers innovative and engaging products and services for entrepreneurs and innovators. The brand was born in 2014 when Simen Fure Jørgensen set up a Kanban workshop using the getKanban board game and noticed its effectiveness in teaching valuable lessons. Inspired by this, Simen and Tore developed the Lean startup approach to create Playing Lean, a game that teaches Lean Startup principles.
After facing initial challenges, the team expanded with the addition of Holger Nils Pohl, who enhanced the visual clarity of the game. Through continuous iterations and a successful crowdfunding campaign, Playing Lean gained popularity and attracted a strong community of facilitators and users worldwide. In late 2017, Playing Lean 2 was launched in collaboration with Alexander Osterwalder, the creator of Business Model Generation and Value Proposition Design.
This resulted in another successful crowdfunding campaign and further improvements to the game. Today, Playing Lean is a widely used tool in corporate training programs, universities, accelerators, and by independent consultants. The brand continues to evolve and thrive with the support of its growing community and a dedicated team
